Training Requirements
Trainings may be provided either on campus by a site supervisor or via online modules provided by ICAP. Trainings not provided by ICAP or site supervisors must be pre-approved by the site supervisor with additional documentation (e.g., training agenda) submitted that demonstrates training has been completed.
All ICAP members must complete the Capacity Building and Volunteer Management training online module within 30 days of enrollment. If your members are serving for a length of four months or more, then they will need to complete four additional trainings: Disaster Preparedness, Civic Engagement, Life After AmeriCorps, and Communication. All trainings are available on the ICAP website, however we do encourage supervisors to organize on campus trainings.
## This is change is encouraged for 2013-14, but will be required for 2014-15 ##
All members serving in their first year as an AmeriCorps member must complete a training on how to access and use their education award. The Life After AmeriCorps training covers this topic and can be viewed by members individually or presented to a large group.
Members will communicate that they have completed their training requirements through their exit packet. A Member Training Certification document must be appropriately filled out and signed in order for members to successfully exit the ICAP program.
